McClane Week One

What a whirlwind week! I can't believe just a little over a week ago, we were still waiting on McClane. This past week has flown by. McClane is doing great - he has such a good temperament and is sleeping and eating really well. I am so thankful that Grant was able to stay home with us for a week - we had a great time bonding with McClane. We are also very thankful that his mom was able to come up here and help us out as well for a week. Catherine arrived on Saturday and has been waiting on us hand and foot. She's been my extra set of hands and has been preparing my meals and making sure I'm getting rest. She's been awesome.

My mom will be coming up next Thursday to help out for a couple of weeks too. McClane is lucky to have such wonderful grandparents eager to help out!

We will be going to the doctor next week for McClane's two-week check-up. We're anxious to find out how much he weighs because he is a little piglet when it comes to eating!

Here are a few new pictures from the past week. Enjoy!

So peaceful.

McClane loves his crib - he sleeps really well in it.

We got this amazing cookie bouquet from our friends the Critchfields. We didn't eat them for two days because they were too cute to eat, but then we couldn't resist. They are just as delicious as they are cute!

McClane is here!!!

Our sweet baby boy finally made his appearance!  William McClane Norman was born on May 11, 2009 at 3:43 pm.  He was 7 lbs, 3oz and 20.9 inches long.  Labor and delivery went really well.  Everything went just as it should have thank goodness with no complications for mama or McClane.

We came home yesterday and McClane is adjusting to his new home and we are adjusting to his crazy schedule!  Everything is good though - we are just glad to have a healthy baby!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days.  Thanks so much to all of our family and friends who have been checking on us and giving us support and love.

We will be posting more soon.

Grant, Lacey, and McClane

I love those big eyes and those lips.

38 Week Bump Pic!

Hi Everyone!
Here's the latest and greatest bump pic! This is me at 38 weeks. I can't believe how much he's (thus I) have grown. I feel like he has done some major growing over the last couple of weeks. Only a short time and he'll be here! We can't wait. I'm still feeling really good for the most part. It is harder for me to get comfortable at night and I get tired of just sitting at my desk during the day, but other than that, I don't have any complaints. Grant and I watched McClane moving around last night. He was kicking me pretty hard and you could actually see and feel his little foot in my right side. It was pretty amazing.

My last day of work is next Wednesday, May 6th, and I can't wait! I'm going to need that next week to get McClane's nursery ready because his furniture STILL hasn't come in. The furniture company assures me that all of the furniture is on its way to Boston and they will deliver it either the end of this week or the beginning of next week. They will assemble it too which is great - that's one less thing for me to worry about. But I just really want to hang pictures and make everything cute and organized and I can't do anything until that furniture gets here. I'm not one to procrastinate when it comes to things like this - but I've had no choice this time! I guess I better get used to things not always going as smoothly as I want them to. I'm thinking McClane will change life up a good bit when he gets here! We are so excited though and can't wait to meet our new son.

We'll post more soon!

New Ultrasound Pics!

Grant and I got to see McClane yesterday and boy has he grown!  My doctor thought my stomach was measuring a little small for how far along I am so she wanted me to get another ultrasound to make sure his growth is on track.  And we found out that he's just fine!  He is already measuring 5 lbs 11 oz. and I've got about 3.5 weeks to go so we're looking at McClane being around 7.5 lbs if he continues growing at about a half a pound a week.  We were so excited to see our little guy again!  He is already head down and I have already "dropped" so he is preparing himself to come into the world in just a few short weeks!  We can't WAIT!  The doctor was able to get a good view of his face and he has the cutest bow-shaped lips.  He seemed to be pouting a good bit poking those lips out - it was so funny.  And he opened his mouth one time and stuck his tongue out at us!  He's already proving to have some personality! Here are some pics from the ultrasound.

This is a profile picture.

He's poking those lips out in this one.

This one you might have to study.  It's a face shot.  You can see one eye, his nose and mouth, and a hand kind of in front of his face.

New Bump Pic and Surprise Shower!

Hello Everyone! I am now almost 35 weeks along!! I can't believe it! McClane will be here before we know it and we can't wait! I am posting my latest baby bump picture - we took it last week when I turned 34 weeks. McClane is definitely growing as you can see! I'm still feeling really good. It's beginning to get harder for me to get comfortable at night. McClane seems to like only one or two positions which I get tired of laying in but if I try to swap it up and sleep on a different side, he lets me know really quickly that he doesn't like it. It's pretty funny. But overall, I still feel great. I ended up having to fly home last week for a couple of days and the travel took a bit of a toll on me as far as swollen feet and being tired but I'm getting back on schedule now. The swollen feet are kind of a constant now. Not too bad but they look funny to me.

My great friends at work threw me a surprise shower on Friday. Grant was in on it too and came over for a surprise lunch shower complete with sandwiches, salads, and a beautiful (and yummy) cake. They really loaded us down with lots of goodies. We got over 200 diapers and 700 wipes, a diaper dude (man's diaper bag - Grant loves it!), a diaper genie, our video monitor, and an umbrella stroller plus sweet little outfits and bath stuff. It was a lot of fun and so sweet of them. I really work with the best group of people.

Here are some pics from last week. Hope everyone is well!

31 Weeks!

This is my latest bump photo taken last night when I hit the 31 week mark. McClane has really grown - and I swear most of his growth since the last picture has occurred in the last 5 days. All of a sudden, he's moving ALL of the time - kicking me constantly and he got bigger! I think he hit another growth spurt which makes sense because we only have 9 weeks to go!! I've posted the picture from last time too so you can compare the growth!

This is the picture from 28 weeks, just 3 weeks ago.

Baby Showers!!

I had a wonderful weekend at home this past weekend. I flew home Friday night and had two showers on Saturday. The first one was at my church and the second one was at my aunt Karen's house. They were both so nice!! I got to see tons of friends and family and I got so many wonderful gifts for McClane! Several ladies gave us special handmade items - blankets and quilts - so nice and something we will treasure always! Everyone was so generous and we are very blessed! I think McClane will be one well-dressed baby - at least for the first 6 months! Grant gave me the biggest surprise ever last night when I got home - he had cleaned out McClane's room!! It may not sound like much, but it made my weekend to come home and see his room ready for new furniture!! He got rid of the bed that was in here and now I can envision how great it is going to look. The furniture should be here in a few more weeks!

Here are some pictures from my weekend. Thank you to all of my friends and family for making this such a special weekend for me! I can't wait until McClane gets here so he can meet all of the wonderful people in our lives!

This is at the shower at my church Saturday morning. My cousin Ashley came with two of her beautiful kids.

All of the ladies at the church shower.

My newlywed cousin Megan and me.

The beautiful and delicious cake that my friend Saralyn made for my second shower at my aunt's house. It was so special!! She used my nursery colors and themes for the inspiration! I didn't want to cut it or mess it up but I'm glad we did because it was fantastic!

Saralyn also made some yummy cookies for everyone to take home from the shower as favors. They were adorable and a huge hit! She is so talented - I can't wait until she opens up her bakery one day!

Three of my beautiful hostesses: Theresa, Saralyn and Kristen. It was so wonderful to see them.

This is a boat bookcase that we had a very talented man in Blakely make for McClane's room. I met with him over Christmas and showed him a picture of what I wanted and viola! he made it! We are beyond excited about it! It turned out so great! My mom is painting it navy to match the other furniture in his room. I can't wait!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We'll post more soon!
