First Baby Bump Pic!!

Well - here it is!! My first baby bump pic!  We just took it so it is completely up to date.  This is me nearly 25.5 weeks pregnant - almost 2/3 of the way there!  I will try to do these from now on twice a month so my growing little baby can be seen.  I'm still feeling great.  I went to the doctor this past Friday and everything is looking good.  When I go next month, I do the gestational diabetes test, so I'll keep everyone up to date on that too.

We can't wait to meet McClane in just 3.5 months!!

No Place Like Home

I've got quite a lot of catching up to do! Grant and I got back from being home to Georgia for nearly three weeks last week and it has taken us some time to get reacclimated to the Boston way of life. We had such a nice visit while we were down there. We didn't need our huge heavy coats, hats, and gloves while we were home. Most of the time, we were fine without even a light jacket. I was able to completely forget how miserable the weather is up here and that was a very nice change!! Here are some pics from our trip down South.

We had a late Christmas with my dad's side of the family once I got down there. My mom and aunt are up top, and my cousins Ashley and Megan are with me on the bottom row.

My mom and I went to Macon on New Year's Eve morning so that I could have a chance to spend a couple of hours with my friend Theresa and her sweet girls Anna Catherine and Kaitlyn.

New Year's Eve night, I was able to see one of my oldest and dearest friends April - she threw a surprise 50th birthday for her parents who thought they were attending a New Year's Eve bash - we celebrated both!

My cousin Megan got married and these are some pictures from her rehearsal dinner and wedding. She was a GORGEOUS bride - she married a wonderful guy Stephen and their wedding was beautiful. I can't believe she's married!!

We were also able to spend some time with our great friends Brooke and Adam and I FINALLY got to meet their adorable little boy Brody. Brody and McClane will be one year apart so it was really fun to imagine what little McClane will be like this time next year. He was soooo cute and his smile really melted my heart. We hope to spend a lot more time with them soon!

There really is no place like home - spending time with family and friends was great!!! We hope our visits become more frequent this year. Love you all!

William McClane Norman

Happy New Year Everyone! We can finally "officially" announce that we are having a little baby boy and we are naming him William McClane Norman. We will call him McClane. He is named after my brother, my Grandfather, and Grant's Grandfather - all named William. We are very excited and have had so much fun sharing the news with our family and friends. We had Christmas stockings monogrammed with his name and gave them to my parents and Grant's mom and that's how they found out what we were having. (That was Grant's great idea!) We could not be more excited and I have already been busy planning the nursery! I can't wait!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to an amazing 2009!!

New Ultrasound Pics!!

Well, we got to see our sweet little baby yesterday and it was wonderful! It's hard to believe we won't see it again until May!! That's a long time to wait! We did find out the sex but I am not posting it on here until after next week. I am going home to see my family on Christmas Day and since I haven't been able to share anything regarding the baby with them in person, I really want to share this news when I get there.

The ultrasound went great though. The doctor spent a lot of time looking at the heart and the spine and the head and everything looked perfect! It's exactly where it should be as far as size goes and she said all of the organs and everything looked great. It was amazing to see the four chambers of the heart - ultrasounds really are a marvel. I couldn't believe she was able to look through my stomach to the baby and then through the baby to its heart and brain - modern science is truly wonderful. We are very very excited to be parents and can't wait until May!!

Here are some pictures from the ultrasound. The first one is of the arm and hand (we could see all five fingers by the way!) and the last three are profile shots. I'll be posting belly shots soon and I'll post the sex after next week. Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family - we miss you!!

Christmas is coming!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!! My mom came up on Wednesday afternoon and left on Sunday. We had a wonderful feast on Thanksgiving (courtesy of my dear hubby) and we are still working on the leftovers. My mom helped me put up our tree and all of our decorations so the apartment is looking pretty festive right now which I love. We went shopping all day on Friday and most of the day on Saturday and got some pretty good deals. I can't believe it is already December and that Christmas is almost here! It still hasn't snowed up here (I'm NOT complaining) but we've definitely had some cold days and I know that the snow will be here soon.

Two weeks from today (December 15th) Grant and I will find out what we're having!! We can't WAIT! We are dying to buy stuff and I can't wait to start planning a nursery. We went to Babies R Us last weekend and registered for a lot of basic baby stuff, but I'm dying to add some pink or blue items! I'm going to add a poll soon so people can vote (guess) on what we're having so be sure to check back for that by the end of the week. Much love to all!

Theresa & AC Visit Boston!

We had a very fun weekend this past weekend!  Theresa and Anna Catherine came to spend the weekend with us from Chattanooga.  Anna Catherine is 16 months old and, boy, is she fun!  I commend Theresa for getting her up here on Friday - it was no small feat I am sure.  I don't think AC liked being couped up in a small space for such a long period of time, but they made it!  They arrived Friday night just in time for dinner and then we all headed to bed shortly after.  Saturday was a very fun day - we took AC to the Boston Public Gardens (my FAVORITE part of Boston!!) and let her run around and play all day.  We also took her to the Children's Museum in Boston which was a lot of fun too.  I think she enjoyed the opportunity to run and play after being in airports and planes all day the day before.  Sunday, we went into the city and met my friend Sonia for brunch and then took AC to a playground and did our best to wear her out the rest of the day before she had to get on another plane.  She is soooo much fun and has so much energy.  It was so nice to spend the weekend with them both and I missed them the moment we said goodbye!  Theresa showed me how to get Skype on our computer so that now we can call them and actually see them at home through the web cam!  I am super excited about that.  Now, I can watch her girls grow and Theresa can watch my belly grow!  Here are some pictures from our wonderful weekend.

This was so cute - Anna Catherine loved having Grant read her books - he would let her pick which one she wanted and he would read - she likes flipping the pages a lot :)

This is part of the "Make Way for Ducklings" statue at the Public Gardens.  Kids LOVE these things and you have to wait in line to get to them.  AC loved sitting on each one and petting them.  It was so cute!
